Grade Level College Fair Schedule
Grade 11 | 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Grade 10 | 1:20-2:30 p.m.
Grade 9 | 1:45-2:30 p.m.
Prior to the college fair, NCCS students participated in intentional sessions to uncover gifts and callings.
GRADE 9 MORNING OVERVIEW | Freshmen students were introduced to college planning with a session led by Mrs. Bollinger. Afterward, all freshman students began their YouScience assessment. YouScience is a program that uses brain games to help students discover their God-given abilities and personality traits. With greater self-awareness of aptitudes, interests and personality traits, YouScience generates a composite view of best-fit careers for the student.
GRADE 10 & 11 MORNING OVERVIEW | NCCS introduced a new college planning system called SCOIR this year, as well. Students in 10th and 11th grades took the morning to register their accounts and began immediately using SCOIR to search for and start building a list of colleges of interest. Students also began building their resume using SCOIR’s easy-to-use features. Currently, NCCS seniors use Naviance to communicate with the College Counseling office and their teachers when requesting letters of recommendation. Naviance is also used to electronically deliver application materials to colleges. SCOIR can provide this same support (and then some!), and we are looking to make a switch for next year for our class of 2021 students. Why the switch? SCOIR is a more effective, efficient and student-centric platform.
GRADE 12 MORNING OVERVIEW | Our seniors enjoyed the morning off campus during a special time with our senior teachers. HERE are the details about this meaningful morning!
WHAT TO WEAR? | Students were reminded that this was a day to make a first impression with the college reps on our campus. We encouraged students to “dress for success.” This means all Upper School dress code expectations were in play as usual, and students were welcome to dress up even more than usual, if preferable.
