Upper School Summer Information
SUMMER READING AND COURSEWORK
Summer is a great time to get some rest, hang out with friends, and have a ton of exciting adventures! All of this is a part of growing to become all that God has created us to be. Even in the Book of Genesis, we see where God himself took a day of rest. Sabbath is a term that describes a period of rest and refreshment. We truly hope that your summer is a lot of fun and full of opportunities to enjoy family and friends.
Summer is also a time to continue cultivating our hearts and challenging our minds. With that, our students do have some summer assignments. All of our Upper School students have summer reading for their English classes and the AP/Honors classes in other departments have summer assignments as well. Please look carefully over the academic information listed below. Below the academic information you will find the supply list and Upper School textbook list. Please contact the Upper School office if you have questions about any of these items.

Chapel dress note for 2017-2018:
With cost, culture and ease for students and parents in mind, NCCS will not require chapel dress for any students beginning in the 2017-2018 school year. Students will wear regular dress code on Monday through Thursday and may wear spirit wear (NCCS t-shirt/sweatshirt and jeans) on Fridays. Chapel dress on chapel day will be optional. There may be a couple of special dress days during the year (such as career day), but there will be sufficient notice given before those days take place.
