This summer NCCS senior K.P. Pierre was selected to participate in a six-month MIT Online Science, Technology, and Engineering Community program for select rising high school seniors from across the country who have a strong academic record and interest in science and engineering. During the Academic Phase of the program, K.P. completed online courses in Technical Writing and Combinatorics. During the last of July, K.P. traveled to MIT where he also completed short courses in Molecular Biology and Astrophysics. While at MIT, K.P. presented his final project in Combinatorics to the MIT academic faculty. For the next six months, K.P. will continue the Enrichment Phase and continue studies in science and engineering; interact with faculty, researchers, and professionals; and receive online mentorship from undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and industry professionals. Congratulations to K.P. for his selection and accomplishment!
