Why I love Teaching:
I love teaching children with learning challenges because the Lord clearly called me to do so. He has given me the desire and ability to advocate, mediate, and cheer on these children, one on one. The methodology that I use leads students to strategize and organize their thoughts, make plans, and practice expressing themselves. I love making my students aware of their metacognition, which is ‘thinking about thinking”.
Golden Moment Teaching at NCCS:
Mondays always offer my “golden moments” when my students hug me and tell all about their weekends of sport activities, family gatherings, and special moments with big smiles on their faces. I love it when they are full of hope and express optimism about their future.
Why I work at NCCS:
North Cobb Christian School is a rare school, that in addition to its regular curriculum and course offerings, also provides a safe harbor and beacon of light through the Moving Forward Program for families navigating the waters with those students who have processing difficulties. NCCS uses a team approach through the Moving Forward Program that includes the student, parents, teachers, and therapists to help the struggling student become an independent learner.
